Tales

1
Zorya isn't her real name. It's simply her favorite from a long list of names she's used.

2
Zorya currently teaches Monsters & Hypogeans. Before that, she's covered Illusion Magic, Alchemy, Forcefield Magic, Elemental Magic... almost anything besides Divination.

3
When she first joined the academy, Zorya taught Illusion Magic, until the headmaster had no choice but to reassign her after her gargoyle-like appearance and unsettling illusions freaked quite a few students out.

4
Zorya has her very own sense of style. Her current gargoyle body is handpicked from her personal collection of 467 statues because it "captures her essence best".

5
Zorya has consistently ranked No. 1 on both unofficial "Best Professors" and "Scariest Tales". The first comes from her depth of knowledge and brilliant teaching while the second, her face and her habit of popping out of nowhere.

6
"People mistake Zorya for cold. Actually, she funds students who can't afford tuition every year and does it so discreetly that the beneficiaries remain none the wiser." —Leymar

7
As a Graveborn, Zorya doesn't need food. Still, she'll sometimes sit in on afternoon tea with the other professors to blend in. Luckily, it's her gargoyle body that handles all the "sufferings".

8
Few know Zorya sings off-key due to her gargoyle body. Perhaps most artisans don't prioritize the finer details of vocal anatomy.

9
Of all the "pastimes humans have created", Zorya enjoys detective novels most. She cares less for due process than for the truth, a mindset that fits the genre perfectly.

10
As a member of the Arcane Council, Zorya is one of the current Merlin's most trusted friends. Even before Merlin's memory loss, she was stationed in the Savannah under the name Bedivere, responsible for maintaining order across the region.
